WSWA Releases Report on Members’ Philanthropy

A tip of the hat to Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America which today issued a report detailing its members’ community engagement and philanthropy.  It’s the second time WSWA has issued the report, which is intended to come out every other year.

“Raising money for children and seniors in need, feeding the hungry, clothing and educating the homeless, serving our veterans, active duty and first-responders, caring for the ill and supporting families and a diverse array of organizations—that is the type of work wholesaler employees do every day in every community. And the type of work they support with their time, money, effort and energy,” writes Craig Wolf, president/ceo, in an introduction.

The report features a number of short stories detailing how distributors support the American Heart Association (RNDC), Cancer Research (Allied Beverage), the Cleveland Clinic’s Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health (Southern Glazer’s), young people recovering from neurological and brain injuties (RNDC and National Distributing Co. Atlanta), among others.

Horizon Beverage supports Compassionate Care ALS, Breakthru Beverage supports Autism Speaks, Henry A. Fox Sales Co. Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, Great Lakes Wine & Spirits, helped the Juvenile Diabetes ResearchFoundation One Walk in Michigan.

Other initiatives at a number of distributorships focused on responsible consumption through safe rides home and underage drinking prevention.
