What One Former Tennessee Liquor Store Owner Can Teach Business Owners About Selling at the Right Time

In 1992, Harriman, Tennessee’s retail market was about to change drastically. For the first time, since its founding as a temperance town in 1889, it was allowing the sale of liquor. Laura Overstreet, a stay-at-home mom with a varied job history, decided to act on the opportunity. She gathered some money from family and friends, took out a credit card, and rented a small space in a nearby strip mall.
