Virginia ABC Sales Jump 17.4%, to $940.1 Million, in 4 Years

In fiscal 2014, the agency’s sales total $800.5 million, according to a new report issued as part of the agency’s transition to an authority.

Roughly half the ABC’s revenue is spent acquiring bev/al products to be sold.  Some 13.2% reflects the cost of operating the ABC stores and warehouse.  Some 4.4% of revenue is for the administrative costs to support the business, and 2.2% is for enforcement of Virginia’s alcohol beverage laws.
