Sazerac Scouting Tennessee for New Distillery

Murfreesboro appears to be the leading contender.

“Murfreesboro is an attractive location because Sazerac seeks a location where its presence can benefit the economic growth of the community and enhance its local community relationships and connections with MTSU’s fermentation science degree program,” Sazerac spokeswoman Amy Preske said.

“The capability it would provide for us to teach students about distillation right here in our home county are really important and would be valuable to us in the program,” Tony Johnston, director of Middle Tennessee State University’s fermentation science program, told the Daily News Journal.
