Maryland Liquor Lobbyist Charged with Bribery

Matthew Gorman, a Hyattsville, Md., attorney and lobbyist was charged with bribery.  Federal officials say Gorman gave former Maryland State Delegate and former Prince George’s County Councilman William Campos at least $1,000 in 2015 in exchange for favorable action from Campos on official matters.

Campos pleaded guilty in January to accepting $40,000 to $50,000 from various parties in exchange for official actions.  He also admitted to funneling more than $325,000 in government funds intended for charities to those who gave him personal payments while on the Prince George’s County Council.
