Irish Whiskey Exports to U.S. Up 19% in Year

Irish whiskey exports to the U.S. jumped 19% last year to more than 3 million cases.  Over the past decade they have soared an astonishing 409%, according to International Wine & Spirits Research.

Sales of Jameson, which holds 78.3% of the market, were up 11% last year.

Both Irish and Canadian whiskey, which was up 9.8% to 21.6 million cases, outpaced Bourbon, up 4.6% to 14.8 million cases.  But bourbon, of course, is starting from a larger base.

Scotch barely moved, growing just 0.3% to 8.2 million cases.
