Idaho Wines Fly Free on Alaska Air

Members of Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan can check one case of Idaho wine free of charge on Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air flights departing from Boise and Lewiston, Idaho. There is no charge to sign up for the mileage plan.

“This will encourage our customers to buy a little more wine,” said Melissa Sanborn, winemaker and co-owner of Colter’s Creek Winery and Vineyard in Juliaetta, Idaho. “They can’t carry it on the plane, so now they will think, ‘I can buy a whole case and I don’t have to pay for shipping.’”

Announcement of the new program was timed to coincide with the start of Idaho Wine Month.
