Distilled Spirits Shipments Grew 12.6% in November

Total distilled spirits withdrawals in November were 35.2 million gallons, Alcohol & Tobacco Tax & Trade Bureau said.

Production of whisky rose to 16.7 million gallons from 14.7 million.  Brandy output fell in the month to 780,373 gallons from 1,041,988 a year earlier.  Rum, gin and vodka production to 968, 598 from 736,669 gallons.

Imports fell in November.  Alcohol, neutral spirts, gin and vodka combined fell to 90,098 from 503,844 a year earlier.  Imported whisky fell to 713,753 from 1,296,203.  Brandy, cordials, cocktails and miscellaneous fell to 686,700 from 915,002, while rum imports fell to 1,358,414 from 1,672,645.  Tequila imports, however, rose to 1,091,641 from 987,871.
