That’s the biggest increase reported this year by the Beer Institute. Before this, the biggest increase in 2017 was 3.7% in May. Overall, there have been four monthly increases and six monthly decreases.
In October, beer shipments by domestic brewers totaled 13.7 million barrels, up from 13 million a year earlier.
On a year-to-date basis, beer shipments still are down 1.9% from a year earlier at 144,980,000 barrels.
